India has been graced since time immemorial by incarnations. Whenever evil elements stifle Dharma - righteousness, God incarnates on earth to re-establish Dharma. Five thousand years after Lord Krishna’s incarnation, God once again incarnated as Ghanshyam on 2nd April 1781 (Chaitra Sud 9, Samvat 1837), in the rustic village of Chhapaiya, in northern India, to a Sarvaria brahmin pundit couple named Dharamdev and Bhaktidevi. He was the second of three sons; Rampratap, the elder brother and Ichharam, the younger. He got famous by various names as Hari, Krishna, Ghanshyam and Neelkanth. After his parents passed away Ghanshyam left Ayodhya, for the Himalayas, to begin his work of establishing Ekantik Dharma, on 29th June 1792 (Ashadh Sud 10th, Samvat 1849). He was only eleven years old. Bhagwan Swaminarayan's philosophy, known as Navya Vishishtadvaita (Neo-qualified non-dualism), upholds the existence of the five eternal realities, namely: Jiva, Ishwar, Maya, Brahman and Parabrahman. Bhagwan Swaminarayan also elaborates moksha or final emancipation, known as Atyantik Mukti in the Sampradaya. One of the means of setting about His principal objective was through the compilation and writing of His teachings, in several important scriptures during His life. These were: the Shikshapatri, the Vachanamritam, the Satsangijivanam and Haricharitramrut Sagar. The teachings drew authority from the Vedic scriptures, and elaborated the realisation of Ekantik Dharma. “Poorna katha Sarvopari shree Swaminarayan Bhagwan ki” tells this interesting and enduring story of his great preaching of observance of Dharma - righteousness and duty, Jnan - knowledge, Vairagya - detachment and Bhakti - devotion with a fully fledged realisation of the glory and grandeur of God.
